Memorial Employees Kick-Off the American Heart Association Start! Walking Program

GULFPORT, Miss.— For the second year, Memorial is sponsoring the American Heart Association Start! Walking program to encourage local employers and their employees to begin walking.
Memorial kicked-off it’s Start! program during National Hospital Week on May 14 with 620 employees participating. Last year Memorial employees walked 475 million steps.
Memorial is the Harrison, Hancock, Pearl River, and Stone counties sponsor of the national worksite exercise program and provided Start! kits for companies that began walking programs. The kits have pedometers to keep track of steps, with 10,000 steps a day as a goal.
