Gulfport Hospitals Implementing Tobacco-Free Campus Policies

Two Gulfport hospitals have joined hospitals across Mississippi in a statewide effort to become tobacco-free. Both Garden Park Medical Center and Memorial Hospital at Gulfport are going tobacco-free on May 1, 2008. As of that date, no smoking will be permitted – inside or outside – on hospital property. This initiative also includes the elimination of designated areas outside both hospitals where employees, patients and visitors currently smoke.
