Advanced Care for High-Risk Pregnancies — Now with Virtual Support Through Obtelecare
At Memorial Hospital Gulfport, we are committed to supporting mothers and babies at every stage of pregnancy — especially when complications require extra care. That’s why we’re expanding our services through a new partnership with Obtelecare, offering virtual Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) coverage for inpatient and outpatient care.
Memorial Hospital Gulfport New MFM Outpatient Partnership with LCMC Health
Memorial Hospital Gulfport is expanding access to high‑risk pregnancy care through a new outpatient partnership with LCMC Health, bringing maternal-fetal medicine specialists Cecilia T. Gambala, MD, and Gabriella C. Pridjian, MD, to the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
The physicians will offer weekly outpatient clinics at Memorial Hospital Gulfport on the first floor next to the outpatient pharmacy. A referral from an OB‑GYN is required.
Dr. Gambala and Dr. Pridjian bring extensive expertise in maternal–fetal medicine, including advanced care for conditions such as:
- preeclampsia
- diabetes in pregnancy
- fetal growth restriction
- obesity
They will work in close coordination with each patient’s preferred OB‑GYN to ensure seamless, comprehensive care.
What Is Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM)?
Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists are obstetricians with advanced training in high-risk pregnancies. These experts work alongside your obstetrician to help manage conditions such as:
- High blood pressure or diabetes during pregnancy
- Multiple gestations (twins, triplets, etc.)
- Premature labor or complications affecting baby’s growth
- Genetic conditions or abnormal prenatal testing results
- Maternal health concerns requiring close monitoring
MFM specialists provide both reassurance and guidance, ensuring that you and your baby receive the highest level of care from early pregnancy through delivery.
What This Means for Our Patients
Inpatient:
Through our partnership with Obtelecare, patients now have access to board-certified MFM specialists via secure telehealth technology — without leaving the hospital. This new virtual model allows our care teams to:
- Provide 24/7 access to specialized consultations for high-risk pregnancies
- Collaborate in real-time with MFM physicians across the country
- Ensure prompt, evidence-based recommendations for patient management
- Offer convenient telehealth appointments when in-person visits aren’t possible
Our goal is simple: to make sure that every expecting mother at Memorial Hospital Gulfport receives expert, compassionate care when it matters most.
During your stay or visit, your provider may recommend a teleMFM consultation. You’ll meet virtually with an MFM specialist through a secure video connection, with your care team present to assist and communicate directly with the specialist. This seamless coordination allows us to deliver the same high-quality experience you would receive in person — with added convenience and faster access to expert care.
Outpatient:
Through a referral from your OB-GYN, maternal-fetal medicine specialists Cecilia T. Gambala, MD, and Gabriella C. Pridjian, MD, work in close coordination with each patient’s preferred OB‑GYN to ensure seamless, comprehensive care. The clinic is conveniently located at Memorial Hospital Gulfport, and patients are encouraged to use the complimentary valet service available at our main entrance.
Our Commitment
At Memorial, we believe that advanced care should never mean distant care. Our partnership with Obtelecare and LCMC Health brings world-class expertise directly to our patients and staff, ensuring the safest possible outcomes for mothers and babies across the Gulf Coast.
