Exceptional Care That Transforms.

June 2026 DAISY Award Honoree – Harlee Jo Talarigo, RN, ICU

Harlee Jo Talarigo, RN

“Harlee was truly an answer to prayers during one of the most difficult and terrifying days our family has ever faced. My dad underwent major brain surgery to remove a tumor covering over a quarter of his brain, and from the moment we met her, she became so much more than just his nurse.

I have never seen a nurse as thorough, attentive, and compassionate as Harlee. She kept our entire family informed every step of the way. She explained every medication, every IV, every procedure, and every update from the doctors and surgeons in a way that helped us understand what was happening during such an overwhelming time. Even while rushing to prepare him for surgery and later working hard to stabilize his blood pressure afterward, she remained calm under immense pressure. Her calmness and confidence brought peace to our family when we needed it the most.

Harlee advocated for my dad constantly. When there was confusion and delays surrounding his surgery, she made sure all parties were communicating and in agreement so nothing was overlooked. Despite how busy and intense the day was, she still took the time to walk us through every detail and answer every question we had. What stood out most was the way she cared for us as people, not just as a patient and family. From helping remove my dad’s contacts before surgery, teaching us about the old-school bedside table mirror he could use, lifting our spirits with jokes and laughter, praying with us, and even crying with us, she somehow always knew exactly what we needed in every moment.

Harlee made us feel safe, supported, and cared for during a day filled with fear and uncertainty. In only 12 hours, she became family to us. She was truly an angel sent by God to help carry us through that day, and we will never forget the love, compassion, advocacy, and care she showed our family.

Harlee embodies everything the DAISY Award represents and so much more. She deserves this recognition because she is an extraordinary nurse and an even more extraordinary human being.”

Thank you, Harlee, for the exceptional care you provide our community!
