GULFPORT, Miss. – February 3 – Memorial Physician Clinics is honored to announce the addition of Dr. Cyril V.K. Bethala, a distinguished specialist in Primary and Interventional Cardiology, to its esteemed team of medical professionals. Dr. Bethala is board-certified in both Cardiology and Internal Medicine, and he brings over two decades of experience in advanced cardiovascular care. He will be providing his expertise at Memorial Physician Clinics Cyril V.K. Bethala M.D. PA Cardiology, located at 4507 15th Street in Gulfport, effective February 3, and at Memorial Physician Clinics Memorial Biloxi Cyril V.K. Bethala M.D. PA Cardiology at 147 Reynoir Street, Suite 102, at a later date.  

Dr. Bethala earned his medical degree from Osmania Medical College, Osmania University, in Hyderabad, India, where he also completed his compulsory rotating internship. He continued his medical training in the United States, completing an internal medicine internship at Presbyterian Hospital, University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He them completed his residency at Mercy Catholic Medical Center, Thomas Jefferson University, also in Philadelphia. During his time at Mercy Catholic Medical Center, Dr. Bethala served as Chief Resident, further honing his expertise in patient care and leadership.  

Dr. Bethala completed a Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at Episcopal Hospital at Temple University in Philadelphia, followed by a highly specialized fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at Lankenau Hospital at Thomas Jefferson University in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania. These prestigious programs equipped him with cutting-edge skills in interventional cardiology, allowing him to deliver world-class cardiac care to his patients. 

Since establishing his practice on the Mississippi Gulf Coast in 2000, Dr. Bethala has been a trusted leader in cardiovascular medicine, committed to patient-centered care with a focus on lifestyle modification and preventive cardiology. He has extensive expertise in cardiac catheterization, stent placement, permanent pacemakers, defibrillators, and comprehensive cardiac diagnostics. 

Dr. Bethala is board-certified in both Cardiology and Internal Medicine and has held numerous prestigious leadership positions, including:

  • Chief of the Cardiovascular Department and Medical Specialties at Gulfport Memorial Hospital
  • Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Vice Chair, and Chairman of the Department of Cardiology at Slidell Memorial Hospital
  • Chief of Staff at Slidell Memorial Hospital and Northshore Ochsner Hospital (2023)
  • Member of the Board of Commissioners (2023)

Dr. Bethala and his wife, Dr. Yashashree L. Bethala, an esteemed Internal Medicine physician, have dedicated their lives to serving the Mississippi Gulf Coast community for over 25 years.
