Memorial Hospital at Gulfport Terminates Agreement with Cigna-HealthSpring Medicare Advantage Plans

GULFPORT, Miss. —Memorial Hospital at Gulfport will terminate the agreement with Cigna-HealthSpring Medicare Advantage as of January 31, 2019. Memorial Hospital & Physician Clinics will become out-of-network for patients covered under those policies beginning February 1, 2019.

These changes will not affect patients or services covered under traditional Medicare.

Memorial is a public, not-for-profit health system with more than 95 physician clinics in the lower coastal counties. All operating income generated by Memorial is reinvested in the hospital and physician clinics, providing the latest technology, specialists, and many services unique to the Coast including: the only Level III NICU, the only Level II Trauma Center, the only neurosurgeons in the three lower coastal counties, and the only providers of urology, oncology, vascular, and open heart services in Harrison and Hancock counties. In recent hospital quality performance ratings, Memorial is the only community, city/county owned, CMS Hospital Compare three-star hospital in the region.
