U.S. News & World Report Names Memorial Hospital at Gulfport still a Best Hospital

August 15, 2014 Gulfport, MS — Memorial Hospital at Gulfport ranked as best hospital in the Coastal Region of Mississippi for 2014-15 in the annual ranking of hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. The magazine’s Best Hospitals rankings, now in their 25th year, recognize hospitals that excel in treating the most challenging cases. Memorial was cited as high performing in Diabetes & Endocrinology; Nephrology; and Neurology & Neurosurgery. High performers provide care at levels in the top 25 percent in regional or state markets, according to U.S. News’ ranking system. Just 12 percent of the nearly 5,000 hospitals that were analyzed for best hospitals in 2014-2015 earned a regional ranking in even one specialty; even fewer hospitals received high performing rankings in three specialties.
