Memorial Physician Clinics Welcomes Coast Cardiovascular Associates

November 7, 2014 GULFPORT, Miss.—Memorial Physician Clinics welcomes Cardiologists Paul Mullen, MD; Antoine Rizk, MD; Wakkas Tayara, MD; and Nurse Practitioners Elizabeth Crosby and Lezlie Mathews in the practice of Cardiology at 1391 Broad Ave, Gulfport and at the Cedar Lake office located at 1756 Popp’s Ferry Road, Biloxi. Dr. Paul Mullen earned his medical doctorate at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Mullen completed his internship and residency at University of Maryland/Baltimore V.A. Hospitals. He is board certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology, Critical Care Medicine and Internal Medicine. Subspecialties include cardiovascular computed tomography and a certified physician investigator through the association of clinical research professionals. Dr. Mullen has been a member of Memorial Medical Staff since 1990. Dr. Antoine Rizk earned his medical doctorate at Saint Joseph University, Faculty of Medicine in Beirut, Lebanon. Dr. Rizk completed his Internal Medicine internship and residency; and fellowship training in Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology at Yale-New Haven Hospital Saint Raphael Campus in New Haven, Conn. Dr. Rizk is board certified in Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology. Dr. Rizk has been a member of Memorial Medical Staff since 2000. Dr. Wakkas Tayara earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, and completed his Internal Medicine and General Surgery Internships at Karachi University, Karachi, Pakistan. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Oklahoma in Tulsa, following which he was elected as Chief Resident for an additional year at the University of Oklahoma. At the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio, he received Level II training in Cardiac catheterization, Transthoracic and Transesophageal Echocardiography; fellowship training in General Cardiology, and fellowship training in Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation. He also was fellowship trained in Interventional Cardiology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and Metro Health Medical Center, Cleveland, Ohio.
