Memorial Immunization Van Offers Flu Shots November 5

GULFPORT, Miss.– The Memorial Immunization Van will begin administering flu vaccinations to the general public on November 5.

and select the Flu Information Line.
The Immunization Van offers general health education as well as free childhood immunizations and adult screenings—blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, foot and stroke—at various offsite locations throughout the community. To be eligible for free childhood immunizations, a child should meet any one of the following:
- has no health insurance
- is on Medicaid, CHIP, or qualified through a State Medicaid Waiver
- is an American Indian or Alaskan Native
- has health insurance not covering immunizations.
Last year, 2,244 children were immunized on the Van and 7,503 adults received the influenza vaccine. Blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose and stroke screenings were provided to 4,657 adults.
