BACKGROUND: For the third year, Memorial is a Year Round START! Cause Sponsor for the American Heart Association Start! Walking program. START! encourages employers and workers to reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke by walking. This year, IP Casino Resort and Spa and W.G. Yates & Sons Construction Company join Memorial as local START! Cause Sponsors. Gary Marchand, Memorial President/CEO; IP Casino Resort and Spa General Manager Jon Lucas, serving as 2009 HeartWalk Chairman; Ricky Mathews, President and Publisher, Sun Herald and Becky Ginn, AHA Vice-President of Field Services will kick-off START! with a brisk walk on the treadmills in the Memorial Fitness Center.
