Whether you are living with chronic pain or are recuperating after an injury or surgical procedure, rehabilitation specialists at Memorial Hospital Biloxi provide a range of services to help you regain independence and achieve your recovery goals. Every individual is different, so rehabilitation specialists provide a customized recovery plan that addresses the unique needs and abilities of each patient.
- Physical therapy – Physical therapists provide a customized plan to help build strength and endurance, and assist with improving balance and mobility. They provide education, various therapies, including dry needling, exercise supervision and offer support and motivation throughout the recovery process.
- Physical therapists who specialize in Pelvic Floor Health focus on evaluating and treating conditions involving the pelvic floor muscles, the surrounding joints including the spine, hip, sacroiliac joints, nerves, and connective tissues. Pelvic health PTs assess and treat the pelvic floor, a group of muscles that support the bladder, uterus, rectum, and core. These clinicians help with issues such as bladder and bowel dysfunction, pelvic pain, pregnancy/postpartum recovery, sexual pain, back pain, and postural correction. They are able to address both low-tone (weak) and high-tone (tight) pelvic floor dysfunctions. They can help manage and rehabilitate all your pelvic health needs.
- Speech therapy – Speech and language therapists assist with everything from swallowing difficulties to memory deficits, voice dysfunction and language barriers. We also have SOS (Sequential Oral Sensory) Feeding Certified Speech-Language Pathologists available for children with eating difficulties. If full recovery is not possible, therapists help patients and family members learn compensatory techniques to allow the highest level of functioning possible.
- Additional therapeutic services – A multidisciplinary team of dietitians, psychologists, social workers and case managers can deliver a range of services to meet individual recovery needs.
