Monica’s Story
I am writing to inform you about my recent experience with Memorial Hospital at Stone County.
“My husband was hospitalized last Friday from complications with COVID. We were so impressed with the care he received. I would like to specifically acknowledge the nursing staff that cared for him: Sonya (manager), Nyomi, Brandy, and Brenda. They were outstanding in their responsiveness to him and to me. His respiratory therapist, Megan, went above and beyond to check on him throughout the day, not just when it was time for any specific treatment. They answered every question and every phone call.
Dr. Edupuganti was so helpful and knowledgeable. She took a great deal of time with him, but she also took time to answer any questions I had. She was very reassuring during many difficult conversations. When she felt he needed greater access to critical care, she was quick to recommend that he be transferred to Gulfport. And Sonya ensured that a bed was available in the PCU before transporting him, which made for a much smoother transition. This team of care providers showed great compassion and professionalism for my husband and our family and I cannot commend them enough.
As a lifelong resident of Stone County, I have not always felt confident about the level of care available here. For years Stone County Hospital would have been the last place I would have chosen to go for treatment for myself or my family. We have been using the Memorial Clinic for several years now and have received excellent care from Dr. Westbrook, Dr. Partridge and Dr. Parker. However, this was our first experience with the hospital and it could not have been better. It gives me great comfort to know we now have access to quality healthcare right here at home. Thank you for all you are doing to improve the quality of life for the residents of Stone County. It does not go unnoticed. I will definitely share my experiences with my circle of friends and family here.”
