Exceptional Care That Transforms.

Memorial Physician Clinics Welcomes Van Wurm, MD

Dr. Van Wurm

GULFPORT, Miss. – November 3 – Memorial Physician Clinics is pleased to welcome Van Wurm, MD, to the practice of Pediatrics at Memorial Mississippi Pediatric Associates, located at 3631 Bienville Boulevard, Suite A, in Ocean Springs.

Dr. Wurm earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. He completed both his internship and residency in Pediatrics at Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital, also at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

“I believe great medicine starts with listening,” said Dr. Wurm. “Taking the time to truly hear my patients and perform a careful exam helps me understand what’s really going on—so I can identify the root cause without relying on unnecessary tests or treatments. This approach allows me to catch both common concerns and those rare conditions that might otherwise be overlooked.”

Before pursuing medicine, Dr. Wurm began his career as an engineer.

“I’ve always loved problem-solving, and now I get to use that same skill to help people feel better and live healthier lives,” he said. “There’s nothing more rewarding than knowing you’ve made a real difference for someone who needed help.”

Dr. Wurm is board-certified in Pediatrics and has been caring for patients on the Mississippi Gulf Coast for more than 19 years.

He is currently accepting new patients. To schedule an appointment, please call (228) 818-0585.
