Memorial Hospital Stone County awarded Gold Seal of Approval Certification from The Joint Commission

WIGGINS, Miss. – May 20, 2025 – Memorial Hospital Stone County has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® and the American Stroke Association’s Heart-Check mark for Acute Stroke Ready Certification.

Memorial Hospital Stone County underwent a rigorous onsite review on March 28, 2025. During the visit, a Joint Commission reviewer evaluated compliance with related certification standards including stroke recognition and evaluation, emergency stroke treatment, and stroke triage for advanced treatment. Joint Commission standards are developed in consultation with healthcare experts and providers, measurement experts and patients. The reviewers also conducted onsite observations and interviews.
