GULFPORT, Miss. – August 1, 2024 – Memorial has expanded its award-winning heart care services with the addition of 12 healthcare providers across the Coast, including:

Dr. Shwan Jalal, FACC, and Dr. Umair Malik, FACC, have joined the Southern Mississippi Heart Center team and will be relocating to 4300B West Railroad Street in Gulfport. Dr. Zayed graduated with honors from Cairo University Medical School. He completed his Internal Medicine internship and residency at Muhlenberg Regional Center, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey. He achieved a Cardiology Fellowship at Norwalk Hospital, Yale University Medical School and completed a fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at Baystate Medical Center/Tufts University. Dr. Zayed is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Cardiovascular Computed Tomography and Interventional Cardiology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Society of Cardiac Angiography and Interventions.
Dr. Passarelli attended medical school at Cornell University and New York Medical College. He completed his residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and his Cardiology Fellowship at Strong Memorial. Dr. Passarelli is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease and is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
Dr. Subedi attended Manipal College of Medicine in Pokhara, Nepal. He then completed his Internal Medicine Residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University. He has achieved multiple fellowships at Tulane University School of Medicine’s Heart and Vascular Institute. Dr. Subedi is an Interventional Cardiologist with board certifications in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Echocardiography and Nuclear Cardiology.
Dr. Tasan attended Ross University School of Medicine. He completed his internship/residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Kentucky and completed a fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at NYU Langone Hospital in Long Island, New York. He also completed a subspecialty fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at NYU Langone Hospital requiring extensive training in Structural Heart Disease. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology, Nuclear Cardiology, and Echocardiography.
