Memorial Health System Appoints Ron Hedges as Vice President of Information Systems
GULFPORT, Miss. – February 28, 2024 – Memorial Health System is pleased to announce the appointment of Ron Hedges as vice president of information systems. With a distinguished career spanning nearly two decades with Memorial, Ron brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role.
Hedges joined Memorial in 2005 as the hospital’s first cybersecurity analyst and has since held several key positions within the Information Systems department, including senior director of information systems, director of information technology, and manager of systems and security. His extensive knowledge and leadership have been instrumental in driving innovation and ensuring the security and efficiency of our information systems operations.
As vice president of information systems, Hedges will oversee all facets of information systems operations, including cybersecurity, data analytics, application portfolio management, and technology infrastructure. His strategic vision and commitment to excellence will further strengthen Memorial’s position as a leader in healthcare technology.
Before his tenure at Memorial, Hedges served in the United States Marine Corps, where he held various roles, including U. S. Embassy Marine Security Guard, recruiter, lab tech, and lithographer. He also brings valuable experience from his time as a project manager and IT manager for Circuit City Stores, Inc.
Hedges holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of the People and an Associate of Science degree in Business Administration and Management from Hawaii Pacific University.
