Memorial Medical Staff Serves as Preceptors for William Carey Students

For Immediate Release July 30, 2012

Students from William Carey University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine will soon learn invaluable real-world lessons from members of the Memorial Hospital at Gulfport Medical Staff.

Through an agreement between Memorial Hospital and the University, 39 members of Memorial Hospital’s Medical Staff will serve as Preceptors to 18 third-year medical students. The initial group, consisting of ten students, will arrive at Memorial Hospital on August 1.

David Northington, DO, Vice-Chief of the Memorial Hospital Medical Staff, will serve as the Medical Director of the program. The physicians serving as Preceptors will be placed on the adjunct faculty of William Carey University.
