Respiratory Therapist

The Respiratory Therapist performs both therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care services necessary to improve and/or maintain an adequate oxygenation/acid-base balance. The Therapist will develop and collaborate patient care with healthcare staff and physicians. The Therapist will practice compliance with standard policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

  • Required:  Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy

License or Certification Requirements:

  • Required:  License
    • Respiratory Care Practitioner or temporary permit issued by the MS State Board of Health
    • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Experience Requirements:

Preferred:  1 year of experience in all phases of respiratory care
Required:  0 years of experience
