January 2025 Daisy Award Honoree – Erin Wetzel, RN

“After being on Pitocin for about 7 hours, I still was not progressing in labor. I was worried that I would have to have a C-section, which was something I did not want. My nurse was very sympathetic to that and did everything she could to prevent it. She even asked different coworkers if there was anything else she could do to help me progress. She assured me as long as the baby was not in distress, she would keep trying. She came in every 30 minutes or so to turn me and try different techniques to help me progress. At 1:53pm all her hard work paid off and our son was born. I am very grateful for everything she did and how she kept me calm during that difficult time. I am not sure I could have gotten through labor without her.”
Thank you, Erin, for the exceptional care you provide our patients!
